They are comprised of
a 32-bit RISC processor. Both controllers adopt the same fastening
process control technology. An optical encoder inside each screwdriver
monitors the rotation of the driver motor from the initial rotation
until the completion of the fastening cycle. The torque coefficient or
factors which influence the torque, is calculated by the controllers
software from the continuously monitored electric current to the
screwdriver motor and the time factor. The electric current from the
controller to the screwdriver motor is based on that continuous
analysis, controlled instant by instant. The screwdrivers torque output
is in proportion to the controllers electric current output to the
screwdrivers motor. The screwdrivers torque curve takes 0.1 seconds and
is calculated by a functional circuit until it reaches the target
torque. Once the target torque has been reached, it holds that torque
for 0.2 seconds to stabilize the torque output.
-
PED controller has
one channel for setting the torque output as a standard (two channel
controller optional). Suitable for control of driver unit
in manual operation. It is also applicable for robotics auto
application of simple screw tightening.
-
FED controller
installed on a robot can catch and loosen an already seated (fastened)
screw, and has a memory for 8 preset fastening torque settings and 8
preset angle settings. Suitable for robotics auto
applications. It is also applicable for control of driver unit in
manual operation, utilizing memory facility and/or with remote control
combined. Facilities available in FED III are :
-
Preset memory
-
Reversing parameter setting and control
-
Idle mode (low torque & slow speed) to engage with
already seated screw
-
Multi-sequence program mode
-
Both controllers
can be used for manual and automatic application

FED III Series |
Torque Drivers
The systems table shows the torque
range for the M-Series (hand operated). The RPM is automatically
selected in accordance with the torque value you program in the
controller.
Each model has the ability to
switch to either standard or high speed using the customized software.
If you require any specific RPM
for a certain fastening torque, please feel free to contact a customer
service representative. We need to know your specific fastening torque
in use, so we can determine if the RPM you require can be achieved.

M-Series Drivers
with automatic recognition
The M-Series driver units have a forward/reverse with a
lever type on/off switch that activates the motor. The M-Series drivers
can be connected to both the PED III and FED III controller and is used
in hand operated applications. The M-Series drivers are equipped with a
1/4 female quick-change chuck. The FH model is equipped with a bit
cushion mechanism. The bit has a moveable range of 10mm in the axis
direction. The driver unit can keep the same bit pressure anywhere
within the moveable range.
|
|
S-Series Drivers
with automatic recognition
The S-Series driver units have a forward/reverse with a
lever type on/off switch that activates the motor. The S-Series drivers
can be connected to both the PED III and FED III controller and is used
in hand operated applications. The S-Series drivers are equipped with a
4mm diameter D-Cut quick-change chuck. The FD model is equipped with a
bit cushion mechanism. The bit has a moveable range of 10mm in the axis
direction. The driver unit can keep the same bit pressure anywhere
within the moveable range.
|
|
A-Series Drivers
with automatic recognition
The A series driver is intended for application of
remote control operation installed in robotics. It is designed to
minimize particles, static charge and magnetic noise emission. It
is suitable for cleanroom application. Vacuum suction for screw pick-up
also collects particles emitted during screw fastening. Optional bit
cushion mechanism minimizes shock to delicate work-piece.
Continuous Bit Grounding Mechanism (see ESD solution) is
also available optionally for most ESD-sensitive environments.
Two types of bit mount are prepared in standard : 4 mm
diameter. D-cut (half-moon) shank bit mount (for M1 to M3 small screws)
and 6.35 mm (1/4 inch) HEX shank bit mount (for M4 to M5 screws). Both
adopts one-touch quick change chucking mechanism.
The A-Series driver unit's power and direction are
controlled by either the PED III or the FED III controller and are used
for automatic applications. The FD and FH models are equipped with a bit
cushion mechanism. The bit has a moveable range of 10mm in the axis
direction and +/- 1 mm (from bit center) in the circumference direction
(360°). The driver unit can keep the same bit pressure anywhere within
the moveable range.
|
|
MG, SG, and AG ESD Series
Drivers
For most critical ESD sensitive environments, what we can offer
optionally is Continuous Bit Grounding Mechanism. Conductivity of
the bit is continuously maintained even during the driver motor and bit
rotation, with less than one ohm.
Available for A series, S series and M series driver units.
